FID (Financial Institution ID) is a numeric identifier in the OFX-family file header that identifies the originating bank. It appears in the
Changing FID is less common than changing INTU.BID, but sometimes necessary: bank mergers change FID values; some banks use placeholder or incorrect FIDs in their export files; and some accounting software specifically requires a matching FID.
